Description
York Museums Trust could see its budget slashed by £500,000 under the local authority’s budget proposals for 2015/16.
The City of York Council will meet on 10 February to discuss plans to make £11.9m of savings in the next financial year, equivalent to 9.5% of its net budget.
The £500,000 cut to York Museums Trust funding represents nearly 50% of the service’s local authority funding. The trust saw its council funding cut by £100,000 in 2014/15 and £300,000 in 2013/14. Prior to that, the council said funding had not been reduced for a number of years.
